This is for setting up an Epson M30 III model printer in Advanced Settings.
- Connect printer to the internet with ethernet in order to set up the wifi, unless you've download the Epson printer app on a phone.
- Cycle the printer to get the IP address: turn machine off, hold down the feed button, turn machine back on, this will print the receipt below.
Step 1: When you first plug the printer in, it should print out some info about the IP address that it is at. That IP Address that it gives you is how you can connect to the printer to adjust its settings to enable printing with POS.
Step 2: Open up a web browser and enter in the ip address which the printer gave you on the receipt.
You should see the Web UI come up from the printer. It will look something like this:
Select Advanced Settings . On the next page in the top right side of the screen, you’ll see Administrator Login . Select that. You’ll see the following page and, as you can see, it says the initial password is the printer’s Serial Number. This is case sensitive so be sure to use capitals if the serial number specifies them. Enter that and then click OK on the bottom of the screen.
Step 3 Once you have logged in as Administrator, there will be more options available to you and you should see the below options on the left side of your screen:
Select TM-i Settings. You should see this page next. Select Server Direct Print
You should see the following page:
In the first line where it says Server Direct Print make sure to select Enable . In the next line called Server 1 enter in the URL of where our ASB Print Service lives, in this case for the Epson printer it is: https://print.asbworks.com/api/epson .
ID and Password fields default to be empty. Leave them that way as we do not use them.
URL Encode should default to Enable which is what we expect. You must leave it this way.
Name field should default to be the printer’s serial number. That is exactly what we expect it to be. If for some reason the Name field is not the printer’s serial number, you must change it to be. This is a hard requirement.
Server Authentication field should default to be Disable which is what it should be.
Step 4: In the top right corner of the page you should see a Apply & Restart Button. Select this and wait for the printer to reboot.
All done!
